Some sites only permit the use of kanji for recipient names when entering addresses (no English or kana allowed). Having this association would perhaps be helpful when tracking down the owner of packages which have had mailbox IDs misprinted.

(Had a package put on hold as the shipping label cut off part of the ID, and as Chinese characters were used for the recipient rather than the English name associated with my account, the correct mailbox couldn’t be inferred.)
