Canny announced this on February 9, 2024:

"Anonymous boards are here! Head to your board settings and toggle on "Use user aliases in posts, comments, votes, and comment likes"."

Please enable this setting. It's literally just a few clicks and it would solve your #4 highest feedback suggestion.

I literally set up a fake Canny account just so I could find this for you 😅

People don't really use their real names on the internet in public spaces.

I think people are concerned about their privacy. It's a pretty popular thing to be concerned about 😂

The fact that this is currently your #4 most popular suggestion should be enough to implement this.

Even if that wasn't enough, another good reason to implement this would be so you aren't sued for violating privacy laws of various countries or accused of GDPR violations. Those are also good reasons.

However, I realize you use a third party ("Canny") for your feedback system, and might not have control of what is displayed? But you could at least put in a suggestion for them to give you the option to remove the username from the display and report that here.

+1, I had to create a separate account with an email address that does not match my blackship one just to get rid of my real name being public here

I kind of get it. If it were usernames it would be fine, but it's not, it's real names.
