It should be possible to edit the name on my account.
I changed my name more than a year ago.
People do change their names. I mean, have you ever heard of marriage? It's pretty common for people to change their name after that event. But it is far from the only situation.
It is considered common courtesy to allow users to change their own names on web sites when they change:
Currently I have the wrong name, both on the Blackship site itself, and on the feedback site. It's showing a name which I would rather not see any more.
Particularly in the case of the feedback site:
1. There is no particular reason why the name on the site has to be real.
2. Other people can see your posts, so from a privacy-first perspective, forcing people to dox themselves is not exactly ethical.

i believe is due to the policy with japanese law that they refrain users from self-editing in their own accounts (https://help.blackship.com/article/prh602bwdn-what-do-you-do-with-my-verification-documents). hence if you really want to change your name, you can always email them as stated in this article (https://help.blackship.com/article/29zzd7dtqg-how-can-i-change-my-name-or-my-verified-address) and resubmit the relevant documents.
