Prohibited Items. Li-Ion Batteries

The list of prohibited items mentions "Lithium-ion Batteries (without devices)". I had attempted to ship an electric drill kit that included a drill, charger, cases and a battery. The battery was deemed prohibited even though it came with a device. This is unclear and could be improved. The main problem is that I cannot actually communicate with anyone in customer service to ask these questions ahead of time, or even fix the issue when it happens. I had to pay an extra $12 to "Split Request" the kit to ask them to discard the battery and hopefully ship the rest of the item. As of now I dont even know if this will work. The only other option available is to throw the entire kit away, which is ridiculous and wasteful. No option available to return the item to the seller either. At minimum there needs to be a cusomer service email address for these issues.

Yes, lithium-ion batteries can be shipped only when they are inside the item - we are not able to ship standalone batteries.
If a customer wants to dispose of some items from a package, we do it free of charge. You can read about it here: https://blackship.frontkb.com/en/articles/5346497
Since the item was disposed of, we have now refunded you the $12 split fee.
Returning an item to the seller is also an option - you would need to add the seller's address as your secondary address and request shipping to this address.
Our customer service email is help@blackship.com
We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Which page did you read on? The only one I know of is this one:
Which I personally find is quite clear in noting that any Li-ion batteries has to be installed in a device to be shippable.
A bit late now, but in regards to getting rid of prohibited items.
There were some perfume attached as a bonus when I bought something else once. I simply added a note in my consolidation request that they could dispose of it if it seemed to fall under the prohibited (ethanol) items category.
That worked all dandy for me.
